- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 heaping Tbls cocoa
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- Combine flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Set aside
- Melt butter on the stove on medium heat. Add Cocoa and stir to combine. Add water and pour over flour mixture
- In a measuring cup, mix together the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla extract. Add to the flour/cocoa mixture.
- Mix well and pour in to sheet cake pan/muffin cups/round pans; bake for 20 mins at 350 degrees F
